A man was arrested in Florida on Tuesday after he allegedly vandalized an Ikeas furniture store with the words “f*ck you” and “f-ck your fathers” and spray-painted the word “F*ck America” on the glass of the window.
Authorities say 30-year-old Richard L. Stavans Jr. was arrested at the Ikea store in Tallahassee after he posted on social media that he had broken into the store, according to a statement from the Tallahasa County Sheriff’s Office.
Stavans, who is being held without bond, was identified as a felon with a history of violent and dangerous crimes, authorities said.
The crime was reported at about 6:20 p.m.
Tuesday and was caught on surveillance video, the sheriff’s office said.
Police said Stavancks car was found parked in front of the store and deputies found “a small amount of paint and a bottle of alcohol” inside the car.
Stovans was charged with aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
The sheriff’s department did not release the name of the victim or any details about the attack.
The store has no cameras in the windows, according, but employees told police that someone had painted “F**ck America,” “F-ck the government” and other offensive messages in the store windows.
Stovans allegedly spray-painted a similar message on a glass door in the front of an adjacent Ikea outlet in January, according the Tallowas County Sheriff.
